Gulfstream Park Track History and Fun Facts:

Gulfstream Park commenced its inaugural meet on February 1, 1939.
It is now the premier East Coast track that operates during the winter.
The annual Florida Derby Festival is a month-long celebration, culminating with the race itself.
Florida Derby winners during the past two decades include Spectacular Bid (1979), Swale (1984), Snow Chief (1986), Unbridled (1990), and Thunder Gulch (1995), all of whom went on to capture one or more Triple Crown events.
Trainer Frank Passero Jr. set a North American record when he saddled 14 consecutive winners at Gulfstream in 1996.
Gulfstream's Garden of Champions has 94 equine members; recent inductees include Cigar and Skip Away.
Children under the age of 18 are admitted free at Gulfstream Park; admission fees for adults also cover the costs for parking and programs.
Gulfstream hosted the Breeders' Cup in both 1989 and 1992, and will do so again during a special three-date meet in November of 1999.
