Notes:
Omaha was born at Claiborne Farm, Kentucky and was the son of 1930 US Triple Crown winner Gallant Fox and the mare Flambino. He started his career very poorly he had won only once in nine races. William Woodward, Sr. s famous Belair Stud was the owner of Omaha while Sunny Jim Fitzsimmon s used to train the horse. In January 1936, he was shipped to England to race before 200,000 spectators . Omaha lost the race by a head to the filly Quashed. He was retired from racing at stud at Claiborne Farm. When he died in 1959 at the age of twenty-sev en, he was buried in the circle of champions at the Ak-Sar-Ben racetrack. Though in his lifetime Omaha was not considered a great sire, his blood ran through the veins of many champions of England. In 1965, he was inducted into the national museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
