Chris DeCarlo is better known as a front-line jockey in Todd Pletcher s stable in New Jersey. When he was only seventeen years old, Chris became the youngest jockey to snatch a victory in the prestigious Haskell at his hometown Monmouth. His grandfather was a popular singer and was attached to racetrack aficionado in Puerto Rico. When Chris was only four years old, he came across the Hall of Fame jockey Angel Cordero. He promised him a riding career if he could stay a little time in that place. Chris took riding lessons until he was fifteen and then moved to New York on May 3, 1985. He was in France for four months in 1994 and participated in many races. Chris is consistently been among the leaders at Monmouth Park jockey list and has led the colony in stakes victories and earnings. He has posted winning titles in twelve races at Monmouth and the Medowlands in 2007.
