Olivier Peslier was brought up in the Mayenne region of France. He used to take part in pony racing competition at his teens. As soon as he completed his course at the school for jockeys in Moulin a Vent, he went for taking an apprenticeship at the farmhouse of Patrick Biancone. He followed footsteps of many top performers of his country and moved to the stable of Nicolas Clement. His first Group 1 ride came through Le Balafire in the Prix Jean Prat. Olivier Peslier signed into a contract with Daniel Wildenstein in September 1993 and that partnership lasted for nearly eight years. At present, he is working as retained rider to the Wertheimer brothers. He applied for a riding license in Japan in 1994 and has been spending three months every year there in racing. His 1997 trips to Britain brought him 163 winning titles. He has been champion of that racing circuit in 1997, 1999 and again in 2000. Olivier Peslier is an enthusiastic paintball competitor and likes to travel everywhere with his equipment in the back of his wagon.
