Notes:
As a race won by eventual 2003 Kentucky Derby and Preakness champ Funny Cide, this restricted contest for juveniles merits watching for a future star. Market Conduct enters off just a maiden victory against New York-breds, as did Funny Cide, and the son of 2010 Kentucky Derby hero Super Saver has already been flattered when the second and sixth-place finishers in that event returned to score. Bullheaded Boy similarly made a winning debut then was a distant third in Saratoga s Funny Cide S. behind unbeaten Upstart, who is headed to the G1 Champagne S. here in early October. Saratoga Heater needed two starts to get his picture taken for trainer Al Stall, Jr. but looked good doing so in the Saratoga slop. He moves to Lisa Lewis barn for his stakes debut. Maiden Tizquick had the misfortune of hooking Upstart in his only race and was best of the rest. Banana Thief found the winner s circle in his third try, an impressive effort over good turf at Saratoga. He did finish second in his only main track attempt, which came over a sloppy Saratoga course in July. Chloe s Wonderboy steps up off a MC 25000 win at Parx and will need to really pick up the pace to be competitive in this spot.
