His wife is Sheila who is the daughter of trainer J.B.Sonnier. The couple have two sons Alex Jr, and Austin and a daughter Tiffany.


Notes:
He is an American jockey in Thoroughbred horse racing. He came into prominence when he won Preakness Stakes in 1986. In 2002 Solis was inducted in Calder Race Course Hall of Fame. In 2003 he won two Breeder s Cup races and also finished second in the juvenile at Santa Anita Park that year. Alex also finished second in the Kentucky Derby in 1997, 1998 and 2000.
