Calvin H. Borel dreamt of becoming a professional horse racing jockey early in his childhood days and began at the young age of 16. He spent most of his time in Kentucky, Arkansas and Louisiana circuit and has had victories in all three states. On February 16th of 2005, Borel became the 45th rider in North American history to win 4000 races. His biggest wins include the Kentucky Derby in 2007,2009 and 2010. He also won the Kentucky Oaks while riding Rachel Alexandra in 2009 making him the only jockey ever to win both major races in one year. May 15th the 44 year old Cajun will be riding the Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver in the 2010 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course.

• Calvin Borel had his first Breeders Cup win in 2006 with his favorite Street Sense.
• He made a history by winning 2006 Breeders Cup Juvenile and 2007 Kentucky Derby with Street Sense, to become the first to win dual Juvenile/Derby.
• Some of the top mounts in 2006 include Seek Gold (G1 Stephen Foster Handicap), Suave (G2 Washington Park Handicap), Court Folly (G2 Amsterdam Stakes), Ermine (Honeybee Stakes), Dash of Humor (Kentucky Cup Ladies Turf) and More Than Pretty (Open Mind Stakes).
• He has scribbled his past with some remarkable wins also like Rockamundo (108-1) in the 1993 Arkansas Derby, K One King (2000 Oaklawn H) and the 2006 Stephen Foster.
