Introduced to racing by elder brother, Chris McCarron is a celebrated jockey, who has managed to find a position in the Hall of Fame. In America he also won in the year 1974, Eclipse Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey. He also won the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award. Mike Venezia Memorial Award was also won by him for extraordinary sportsmanship. Nine Breeders Cup races was also won by this famous jockey. He retired in 2002 after twenty years of career. His monetary winnings have been 264 million.
