Emma-Jayne Wilson is a famous thoroughbred horseracing jockey, who rides mainly in the US and Canadian horseracing circuit. She has won the Sovereign and Eclipse Award the honored prizes in the thoroughbred racing circle. She is the daughter of a computer programmer and a corporate marketing executive only at nine years old she started riding horses and within a couple of years she became matured rider in the Canadian horseracing circuit. As soon as she finished schooling in Brampton, she started studying equine management at Kemptville College, which is a part of the University of Guelph. Wilson came to horseracing after the completion of her graduation. At the beginning, she spent two years as an exercise rider at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto before actually beginning as an apprentice. She snatched victory for the first time on August 28th 2004 at the Fort Erie Racetrack. When she was in Canada, she won the 2005 Sovereign Award for Outstanding Apprentice Jockey and after that she became the only second female jockey voted for the US Eclipse Awards for outstanding Apprentice Jockey. She was named in 2005 as the most influential Canadian women in Sport and Physical Activity, which was compiled by the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women. Wilson became the first women jockey on June 24, 2007 to clinch the prestigious Queen s Plate this time she rode Mike Fox to get the victory in the grade 1 event at Woodbine Racetrack. At the beginning of 2008, Wilson became the first female jockey to get racing license for the Hong Kong racing circuit.
