Notes:
Patrick Valenzuela is a popular jockey for thoroughbred horses in the North American horseracing circuit. He was born into a racing family his father and three of his uncles rode for a long time in different racetracks of the United States. So, the door was actually open for him only a break was required for him. At 17, Patrick clinched Santa Anita Derby as the youngest jockey and won the George Woolf Memorial Jockey Award in 1982. Patrick missed an opportunity to become winner of the American Triple Crown in 1989 he won the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes but failed to win the third leg Belmont stakes riding Sunday Silence. He has won Breeders cup title a record seven times. He is the first to win twice the Breeders Cup races on the same card. He was suspended from racing by the authority concerned in 1990 and again in 2000 he was charged of having performance enhancing drugs. The problem again cropped up in 2004, which resulted into suspension but he came back and won the top jockey award duringthe 2004-05 racing session at Santa Anita Park.
