Notes:
Previously contested as the G3 Hollywood Prevue at Hollywood Park, Del Mar s G3 Bob Hope S. lured a field of nine juveniles for its inaugural running. Undefeated Emerald Downs sensation Prime Engine makes his debut for Hall of Fame conditioner Jerry Hollendorfer, who scored in the final Prevue with eventual Eclipse Award-winning 2-year-old champion Shared Belief. Prime Engine has been training well at Santa Anita since joining Hollendorfer after a runaway victory in the Gottstein Futurity on the closing day of the Auburn, WA track s meet. Story to Tell is the 122-pound highweight and the only other stakes hero in the field. He took the Willard L. Proctor Memorial S. at Los Alamitos in July and exits a third-place finish in the Speakeasy S. at Santa Anita. His only off-the-board finish in five races came when he was trounced in the G2 Best Pal S. over this course. Sebastian s Heart was in front of Story to Tell when second in the Speakeasy. He showed little in his career debut on this oval in September then got his picture taken in a 75,000 maiden claimer at Santa Anita. All Indians was no factor in the Speakeasy but looked good breaking his maiden here in his second try. He reunites with Kent Desormeaux, who was aboard for that victory. Every May has two victories and a second-place finish in three starts. The colt started his career with maiden two races at Los Alamitos then traveled to Golden Gate Fields to defeat winners in an optional claimer. Diamond Majesty also needed two tries to break his maiden and did so as the favorite on the grass at Santa Anita. Debut graduate Alright Alright owns the highest last race BRIS Speed Rating, a 92 earned in a 6F event at Santa Anita. No Problem and St. Joe Bay both tried maiden special weight company in their career debuts then found the winner s circle in the MC 75000 ranks at Santa Anita.
