Go First closed from well back to finish just half a length behind Willie B Awesome and clear of the rest. Time for a Hug, who will break from the rail, made a winning debut against statebred maidens, finishing a length of ahead of next out winner California Chrome, who drew post position 7 as he tries to turn the tables in this spot. Solid Wager defeated five rivals in a MC 50000 in his only start and hails from the red-hot Peter Miller barn that entered the week with a 29 win rate at the meet.
