Notes:
Unraced filly One More is entered to take on eight colts and geldings in Southern California s 1 st juvenile stakes of 2013. The daughter of Holy Bull, who was also nominated to the same day Lost in the Fog S. at Golden Gate Fields, will try to match 3yo stablemate Know More, who took the Best Pal S. last summer when debuting for the Doug O Neill/Reddam Racing trainer/owner tandem. Kobe s Back is the other firster in the field and goes for the potent John Sadler barn that hits at 22 with debut runners. He s a half brother to graded stakes winner Well Spelled. Sadler also sends out Street Icon, who won an open company maiden race over this course in his only start. The oddly-named Geldautomat was 2 nd to Street Icon in that contest and showed courage to finish well after steadying. Willie B Awesome and Go First also exit a 1-2 finish vs. open company maidens. The former is a full brother to multiple graded stakes-winning filly Willa Be Awesome and was making his 2 nd start when he found the winner s circle. Go First closed from well back to finish just half a length behind Willie B Awesome and clear of the rest. Time for a Hug, who will break from the rail, made a winning debut against statebred maidens, finishing a length of ahead of next out winner California Chrome, who drew post position 7 as he tries to turn the tables in this spot. Solid Wager defeated five rivals in a MC 50000 in his only start and hails from the red-hot Peter Miller barn that entered the week with a 29 win rate at the meet.
