Cliff Berry started galloping horses from a very young age with his dad. His father dealt with different kinds of horses including thoroughbreds. Berry rode his first race at Midway Downs. He had started his career with quarter horses and then later to thoroughbreds. He has recorded 8 wins in Remington Park. In 2008, Cliff Berry had 238 mounts and 38 wins in Oaklawn. He placed 4th in season standings at Oaklawn. Horses ridden by Cliff Berry include Raja Omega, Voladora and Maysville Slew. He won his biggest race in 2003 Winstar Distaff at Lone Star lapping up 200,000. He has won the Remington Park jockey title 8 times. He has been galloping horses for 29 years. He commenced with quarter horses and switched to thoroughbreds in 1980. Father, Bob Berry s career revolved around horses of various breeds.

• He has won 10 career stakes which includes Northern Spur and Essex at Oaklawn.
• In 2003 he won 200,000 Winstar Distaff at Lone Star on Voladora
• In 2008 Oaklawn meeting he won with 38 of his 238 mounts securing a fourth place in the season. In the same year in Spa live meeting, his total earnings were 771,274.
• The year 2004 was extremely significant for him, when he rode the veteran Maysville and won the 200,000 Dallas Turf Cup.
