Corey Lanerie grew up in a horse racing environment his grandfather was a trainer. His father was a champion jockey and at present working as trainer. Corey learned the art of riding horses at his childhood days and virtually started riding in the professional arena in 1991. Within a few days of his debut, Corey snatched first winning title riding High Hopes Banquet at the famous Evangeline Downs in the year 1991. He is a regular rider at Louisiana Downs, the Fair Grounds and the Texas circuit.
