Jerry Bailey is one of the many jockeys that have earned name and fame through riding horses his style and a line of winning feats around the North American horse racing circuit won the American Hall of Fame jockey for him. At present, he is among the retired lot but has persistently been helping the junior riders of his hometown. Starting his career in 1974, Bailey posted win on the first mount with Fetch at the New Mexico s Sunland Park. So far as his racing statistics is concerned, Jerry has won nearly six thousand stakes races all through his racing career and was very aptly conferred the New York Handicap Triple in 1984. Some of his notable performance includes six victories in American Classic Races and a record fifteen wins in Breeders Cup races including snatching five victories in the Breeders Cup Classic stake itself. He is known for his great horse Cigar. Jerry is one of the many jockeys to wear advertising patches in the Kentucky Derby. On January 19, 2006, Jerry got retirement at forty-eight. Nowadays, he is involved in racing in a number of ways including commentary for ESPN.
