Notes:
John Velazquez entered Puerto Rican jockey school in June 1988. He started his career by setting six races win on September 3, 2001. In 2003, he clinched the New York Turf Writers Association s Fourstardave Award and received the Eddie Arcaro Award in 2002, 2003 and 2005. He became leading rider in New York for four consecutive years 2001 to 2004. In the 2004 Breeders Cup, he won the Bill Shoemaker Award while in the spring 2005 meet he became the leading rider at Keeneland. John received back-to-back Eclipse Awards in 2004 and 05 and won his 3,000th career race on July 29, 2004 with Runingforpresident at Saratoga. In the 2007 Belmont Stakes, Velazquez earned his first win in a Triple Crown race riding Rags to Riches that made her the first filly to win the race since 1905.
