Notes:
Lanfranco Frankie Dettori is a popular Italian thoroughbred jockey, who raced and won the 2008 Breeders Cup Classic title. Son of Sardinian jockey Gianfranco Dettori, Bennie is a prolific winner in Italy. Dettori Jr. was raised in a horseracing environment under the patronage of his father. By leaving school early of his life, he started concentrating solely in the service of horse riding. As he grew up, Dettori became a stable jockey under the leadership of trainer Luca Cumani at Newmarket. Dettori made an astounding record of winning hundred races in a single session by posting his first career victory in Turin on November 1986 at the age of sixteen. Lanfranco claimed seven consecutive Grade 1 races within a single day at Ascot Racecourse on September 28, 1996. In 2004, Dettori Jr. was rewarded for his utter dedication towards horse riding and ultimately became the British Champion in 2004. So far as it is known, he is an ardent anglophile. Unfortunately, many of his medals have been stolen but his indomitable fighting spirit brought him the 2008 Breeders Cup Classic.
