Lone Star Derby is an American Thoroughbred horse race covering eight and a half furlongs on the dirt track of Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas. The race commenced from 1997 as a Listed race. It became grade III race from 2002.
This grade III racing event is restricted to three year olds and carries purse of 300,000. From 2001 to 2003, horses ran 1 8539 miles. In 2008 Rafael Bejarano rode El Gato Malo to win Lone Star Derby.
