Breeders of Thoroughbred racehorses have a motto: "Breed the best to the best, and hope for the best." Farms from California to New York, Florida to Maryland, are all trying to emulate what breeders in the state of Kentucky have done for centuries -- produce champions.
Race Horses are built to run, bred for speed and overly high-strung which puts their will and determination to win above most every other animal on the planet! Famous racehorses such as our Triple Crown winners like Affirmed in 1978, Seattle Slew in 1977 and Secretariat in 1973 are the most recent winners of what has become the most difficult feat in all of sports.
The fame of horses isn’t exclusive to that of just our Triple Crown winners though. We also have famous horses in recent years such as Zenyatta and Rachel Alexandra who are the fillies that captivated the nation’s hearts in 2010 as they both challenged the boys and Zenyatta finished an amazing career in the Breeders’ Cup Classic, losing to Blame by only a head.
As horses continue to come and go and we see one Eclipse award winner after another win the Horse of the Year, seldom does a horse become truly famous and rise above the rest in the world of horse racing. Will this be the year that we see a Triple Crown winner? Will this be the year that the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile winner finally wins both the Breeder’s Cup Juvenile and the Kentucky Derby or maybe even runs the table and win the Triple Crown? Only time will tell… Bet with Confidence at All Horse Racing
