Unbeaten Violence headlines the first prep in the Kentucky Derby Championship Series valued at 50-20-10-5 points to the top four finishers. As impressive as Todd Pletcher s trainee has been, he didn t scare off many challengers while racking up three victories, including a G1 and G2, as a juvenile. Ten three-year-olds have been entered to face Violence in Gulfstream Park s 400,000 G2 event, including California-based G1 Breeders Cup Juvenile runner up He s Had Enough, who is cross-entered in the same-day Risen Star S. at Fair Grounds but appears bound for South Florida. Violence has been working well for his first start of 2013 and earned the 5f bullet at Palm Meadows on 2/17. He ll have an opportunity to save ground from the 3 post. He s Had Enough was not so fortunate in the draw and is slated to break from the disadvantageous 9 gate. G3 Sam Davis S. champ Falling Sky breaks to the outside of He s Had Enough and will need to use his gate speed to put himself into the mix early due to the short run into the 1 st turn for 1 1/16m races at Gulfstream. Sr. Quisqueyano, who was badly beaten in last month s G3 Holy Bull S. over this surface, was never out of the exacta in seven prior starts, five of them stakes, but must break from the extreme outside post. On the other end of the gate is Orb, winner of a 1 1/8m allowance optional claimer here on the Holy Bull undercard. Curiously, he loses jock Rosario to Speak Logistics, who finished off-the-board in each of his last two, the Breeders Cup Juvenile and Sam Davis. Majestic Hussar whipped highly-regarded Risen Star entrant Palace Malice at 7f in the Gulfstream slop on 1/19. Shadwell Stables homebred Elmutahid broke his maiden at 1 1/8m later on that card. Team Valor s Cerro was rerouted to this spot in pursuit of more Derby qualifying points off his 1/26 route win here in which Sky Captain was a non-threatening 2 nd . Joshua s Comprise, who shockingly completed the Holy Bull superfecta at odds of 132/1, makes the 17 th start of his career and figures to be high-priced yet again.
Fountain of Youth Stakes is a horse racing event that is organized at Gulfstream Park. It has a purse value of 400,000. 3 years old horses that can cover a distance of 9 furlong may participate in the race.
