Notes:
Six promising two-year-olds are set to square off in this Win and You re In contest that offers the victor an all-fees paid berth for the G1 Breeders Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita next month and the top four finishers 10-4-2-1 respective qualifying points for the Kentucky Derby under the Twin Spires next May. I Spent It is the most accomplished of this group, having started his career with a July maiden win on this oval and then adding the G2 Saratoga Special to his resume in August. The son of 2010 Kentucky Derby champ Super Saver had an epic pre-race meltdown before Saratoga s closing day G1 Hopeful S. and was spent before breaking from the gate and ultimately settling for second behind the now-sidelined Competitive Edge. Unbeaten Upstart is the only other stakes winner in the field and has been a pure professional in both of his starts against fellow New York-breds. The ridgling overcame traffic to romp in his Saratoga maiden score and followed that up with a sharp victory in the restricted Funny Cide S. at the Spa. El Kabeir was a non-threatening third in his Saratoga debut in mid-August but absolutely dazzled when returning near the end of that month and whipping eight rivals by 10 lengths. Holy Boss won by a similar margin in his only start, a 6F maiden race at Churchill Downs on Sept. 6 against nine foes. Daredevil s planned first start earlier in the summer was delay by a minor issue, but the colt s debut a here last month in the mud proved worth the wait when he dusted eight others by more than six lengths. He can give trainer Todd Pletcher his fourth win in the last five editions of this prestigious race. The Truth Or Else needed four tries to break his maiden but did so immediately after being switched from turf to dirt for a 1m contest on this course.
