Kentucky Derby Contenders Injury Report

Madefromlucky: Following his April 24 work at Churchill Downs, trainer Todd Pletcher told the Daily Racing Form that the Arkansas Derby fourth-place finisher will bypass the G1 Kentucky Derby in favor of Belmont Park's G2 Peter Pan S. on May 9.

One Lucky Dane: After sustaining a condylar fracture to his left front leg during an April 18 workout at Santa Anita Park, the Bob Baffert trainee has been removed from consideration for the G1 Kentucky Derby.

Daredevil: The G1 Wood Memorial fourth-place finisher has been sent to WinStar Farm for a freshening and will be pointed toward a summer return in one-turn races.

Prospect Park: The Santa Anita Derby fourth-place finisher is off the Kentucky Derby trail after being found to have a high white blood cell count.

Dubai Sky: The Spiral S. champ and late nominee to the Triple Crown suffered a fractured hind leg galloping at Churchill Downs on April 4.

Far From Over: The Withers S. winner has been diagnosed with a hairline fracture of his left hind leg and is off the Kentucky Derby trail.

Ocean Knight: Following a work on March 30, the connections decided to bypass the final round of Kentucky Derby preps.

Imperia: The Kiaran McLaughlin trainee, who was scratched from Turfway Park's G3 Spiral S. with a hind-end issue, is no longer under consideration for the Kentucky Derby.

Texas Red: The G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner has been removed from Kentucky Derby consideration so his connections can give him adequate time to fully recover from foot problems.

Savoy Stomp: The Todd Pletcher trainee is undergoing shockwave treatments on his right hind hock, which he injured in a troubled start of the G3 LeComte S. at Fair Grounds.

Danny Boy: The Donegal Racing color-bearer suffered a broken leg on March 11 and is expected to make a full recovery.

Khozan: The unbeaten Todd Pletcher trainee is off the Kentucky Derby trail after coming back from a routine gallop at Palm Beach Downs with a right hind ankle problem.

The Great War : Wesley Ward declared his charge from Kentucky Derby consideration after he bled through Lasix and finished last of 10 in the John Battaglia Memorial S. on Feb. 28 at Turfway Park.

Eagle : The Neil Howard trainee, who failed as the favorite in the G3 LeComte S. at Fair Grounds last month, exited a Feb. 16 work with an injured knee and is sidelined indefinitely.

Acceptance: The King Glorious S. hero has been turned out with sore shins after finishing fourth in the California Cup Derby at Santa Anita on Jan. 24.

Calculator: The G3 Sham S. champ emerged from a Jan. 31 workout at San Luis Rey Downs with an undisclosed injury that will sideline him for six months.

Mawthooq: The Kiaran McLaughlin trainee, who was being pointed to the G3 Withers S. at Aqueduct on Feb. 7, has been knocked off the Triple Crown trail with a tendon injury.

Royal Saint: The Ellis Park track record-setter was knocked of the Triple Crown trail with a chip and should have a full recovery.

Leave the Light On: The Remsen S. champ injured a hind ankle in a workout and will have surgery before taking a couple of months off to recover.

Barbados: The Spectacular Bid and Hutcheson S. winner will undergo minor knee surgery at the Rood and Riddle equine medical center in Kentucky to repair a non-displaced fracture and is expected to be able to return to training by May.

Outlash: The Gulfstream Park maiden winner suffered an unspecified setback after his winning debut and is now targeting a campaign that will get him to the Belmont S. in June.

Mr. Jordan: Conditioner Eddie Plesa, Jr.'s undefeated 2-year-old injured a check ligament during a workout at Gulfstream Park West and will be sidelined indefinitely.

American Pharoah: The G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile morning line favorite, who was withdrawn from that race due to a bruise in his left front foot, will likely return in February.

Calculator: Trainer Peter Miller's maiden, who was scratched from the Breeders' Cup Juvenile because of a lingering foot injury, will need at least a couple of weeks off before he can resume training.

Hashtag Bourbon : Trainer Kellyn Gorder said his charge, who finished ninth as the second choice in Keeneland's G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity, sustained a small chip in his left front ankle and is slated for surgery. Gorder hopes the colt can return during the Oaklawn Park meet this winter.

Om: The flashy Del Mar maiden winner will miss at least the remainder of his juvenile season due to a hock injury.

Competitive Edge: The unbeaten G1 Hopeful S. hero sustained a hairline fracture to his left foreleg and will miss the remainder of his juvenile season. Trainer Todd Pletcher said he believes the horse will be back early enough in his 3-year-old season to attempt to get onto the Triple Crown trail.
