Kentucky Derby Prep races on NBC in 2019
The 2019 NBC horse racing schedule has been announced including The Road to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Derby Champion Series. In 2016 NBC Sports showcased six races on four consecutive weekends of LIVE racing. The Live racing broadcast runs March 30th through April 13th on the NBC family of networks as part of an agreement between NBC, racetracks and the Jockey Club.
Jockey Club to co-fund broadcasts
The Jockey Club has taken on an initiative to co-fund the Road to Kentucky Derby broadcasts as part of a five year plan to broaden the public profile of thoroughbred horse racing . This is recommendation comes from a report prepared for the Jockey Club by McKinsey and Company back in 2011.
