• Both American Pharoah and Dortmund, the expected top two betting choices in the 141 st Kentucky Derby, were out early on May 1 for their final gallops in preparation for the race and will be walked around the barn shedrow on the morning of May 2

• Derby hopeful Firing Line had a routine gallop on May 1 and will go to the track early on May 2 for a routine jog

• G2 UAE Derby hero Mubtaahij trained in the mile chute on May 1 but did not go to the main track

• Multiple graded stakes hero International Star was back on the Churchill Downs track on May 1 after having a day off on April 30

• Stanford, who was scratched from the Kentucky Derby on April 30, will likely run next in the G2 Peter Pan S. on May 9 at Belmont Park or in the G1 Preakness S. at Pimlico on May 16

• Should Frammento start in the Derby as planned, the Nick Zito trainee will become the first also-eligible entrant to run in the race

• Tale of Verve, a surprise Derby entrant as an also-eligible, is likely for the Preakness

• Bold Conquest, who was not entered as an also-eligible in the Derby, is possible for the Preakness

• Triple Crown nominee Smart Transition, winner of a Santa Anita maiden race on April 30, will make his next start at Belmont Park

April 19th

• Three-time Kentucky Derby winner Calvin Borel has been named to ride El Kabeir in this year's race

• Jockey Rafael Bejarano picked up the mount on Kentucky Derby candidate Bolo following One Lucky Dane's withdrawal due to injury

• Zayat Stables named Kentucky Derby rookie Ramon Vazquez to ride Mr. Z in the 2015 edition

• G1 Blue Grass S. runner-up Danzig Moon exited his April 19 work in good order and will have his final pre-Derby exercise on April 25

• G1 Arkansas Derby second-place finisher Far Right will have his final pre-Derby workout on April 25 or 26

• Multiple graded stakes winner El Kabeir is likely to work at Belmont Park on April 26 before vanning to Churchill Downs later that afternoon

• Kentucky Derby hopeful Bold Conquest is slated to work on April 20 towards a possible run for the roses

• Loooch Racing Stables and Glenn K. Ellis' War Story is scheduled for a pre-Derby work on April 22

• Mr. Z, third last out in the Arkansas Derby, will work on April 22 or 23 in advance of his expected Derby start

April 13th

• American Pharoah exited his G1 Arkansas Derby romp in good order and will fly to Churchill Downs on April 13 to begin final preparations for the G1 Kentucky Derby

• American Pharoah will have one work at Churchill Downs prior to the Derby

• Arkansas Derby runner-up Far Right emerged from his effort in good shape and is scheduled to fly to Churchill Downs on April 13

• Far Right will race in the Kentucky Derby in the silks of majority owner Harry Rosenblum, who won a coin flip with co-owner Robert LaPenta

• Arkansas Derby show finisher Mr. Z also came out of the race well and will ship to Churchill Downs on April 13

• Madefromlucky, who completed the Arkansas Derby superfecta, will travel to Keeneland on April 13, with plans for his next start to be determined

• Trainer Rick Violette reported that Upstart's temperature was normal on the morning of April 12, one day after he spiked a sudden fever that forced him to miss a scheduled work at Palm Meadows

• G1 Wood Memorial winner Frosted will likely work twice at Palm Meadows before shipping to Louisville

• Trainer Todd Pletcher's trio of Materiality, Stanford and Itsaknockout will all work one more time at Palm Beach Downs before shipping to Churchill Downs on April 21

• G3 Sunland Derby victor Firing Line will have two more workouts at Santa Anita before traveling to Churchill Downs on April 26

April 7th

• G2 Louisiana Derby last-place finisher Mr. Z could run back in the G1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park on April 11, with a decision pending from owner Ahmed Zayat

• Maiden Triple Crown nominee Win the Space is under consideration for the Arkansas Derby

• Angel Cruz, who rode Bridget's Big Luvy in the Private Terms S., is scheduled to have the return engagement in the Arkansas Derby

• Donegal Racing's Rock Shandy will not be entered in the Arkansas Derby after missing a scheduled breeze due to tenderness in a hoof

• G1 Wood Memorial S. winner Frosted will arrive in Kentucky in time for at least one and possibly both of his pre-Derby workouts

• Wood Memorial runner-up Tencendur exited the race in good shape and will likely move on to the Kentucky Derby

• Tencendur will need a new jockey in Louisville since Jose Ortiz is the regular rider of Upstart

• Wood Memorial show finisher El Kabeir is being considered for the Derby, as well as a return in the G1 Preakness S. on May 16

• Stablemates Dortmund and One Lucky Dane, the top two finishers in the G1 Santa Anita Derby, are set to move on to the Kentucky Derby

• Dortmund lost his right front shoe at the start of the Santa Anita Derby but did not suffer any injury as a result

• One Lucky Dane had a sore eye after the Santa Anita Derby, likely from being hit by a dirt clod

March 31st

• G1 Florida Derby victor Materiality will remain at Palm Beach Downs for the next three weeks and will have one or two works there before shipping to Kentucky to have his final work at Churchill Downs

• Florida Derby second-place finisher Upstart will remain at his Palm Meadows winter base to prepare for the Kentucky Derby and ship to Louisville the week of the race

• Florida Derby show finisher Ami's Flatter shipped to trainer Josie Carroll's Woodbine barn where he will remain while his connections decide whether to point for the Kentucky Derby or prepare for the Queen's Plate on July 5

• Itsaknockout, a distant fourth in the Florida Derby, will continue training at Palm Beach Downs and be evaluated over the next several weeks while is connections decide whether to pursue the Kentucky Derby

• International Star, Stanford, War Story and Keen Ice, the top four finishers in the G2 Louisiana Derby on March 28, are all expected to train towards the Kentucky Derby

• UAE Derby hero Mubtaahij is scheduled to fly from Dubai to Kentucky on April 16 to run for the roses

• Unbeaten G1 Hopeful S. champ Competitive Edge exited his score in Gulfstream Park Tamarac S. in good order and will likely be pointed to the G3 Pat Day Mile at Churchill Downs on Kentucky Derby Day

• Candidates for the G1 Santa Anita Derby on April 4 are Dortmund, Bad Read Sanchez, Bolo, Cross the Line, One Lucky Dane and Rock Shandy

• Rock Shandy is also under consideration for the G1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park on April 11 but will definitely not ship to Keeneland for the G1 Blue Grass S. on April 4

• G1 Wood Memorial probables are Daredevil, Far From Over, Frosted, El Kabeir, Tencendur and Toasting Master

• Following his fourth in the G2 Fountain of Youth S. on Feb. 21, Frosted underwent a minor throat operation designed to help a horse from displacing his soft palate and inhibiting his breathing

• Classy Class, previously considered for the Wood Memorial, will instead have his final Kentucky Derby prep in the Blue Grass

• Guapo Man, a 17-length maiden race winner at Fair Grounds on March 29, could make his next start in a Kentucky Derby week allowance contest at Churchill Downs

March 24th

• Ami's Flatter is probable for Gulfstream Park's G1 Florida Derby on March 28 following a sharp March 23 work at Palm Meadows Training Center

• Other probables and possibles for the Florida Derby are Upstart, Itsaknockout, Materiality, Dekabrist, Felifran, Indianaughty, My Point Exactly, Quimet and Eh Cumpari

• Entries for the Florida Derby will be drawn March 24 at 5 p.m. Eastern in the track's walking ring

• Those being considered for the G2 Louisiana Derby at Fair Grounds on March 28 include International Star, War Story, Keen Ice, St. Joe Bay, Mr. Z, A Day in Paradise, Defondo, Comfort and Stanford

• Jockey Joe Talamo made a two-race commitment to ride War Story in the Louisiana Derby and G1 Kentucky Derby

• Mr. Z will lose his blinkers for the Louisiana Derby

• G3 Sunland Park Derby hero Firing Line will race next in the Kentucky Derby

• G3 Spiral S. winner Dubai Sky will be made a late nominee to the Triple Crown and train at Churchill Downs as his connections decide whether or not to run for the roses

• Expected for the G1 Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn on April 11 are American Pharoah, Far Right, Bold Conquest and The Truth Or Else

• In addition to being a late nominee to the Triple Crown, Tiz Shea D will be nominated to the Wood Memorial, Blue Grass and G3 Illinois Derby at Hawthorne on April 18

• Mr. Jordan and Competitive Edge, both undefeated as juveniles before being sidelined with injuries, will launch their sophomore campaigns in a 7F overnight stakes at Gulfstream Park on March 27

• Ghost Bay, who broke his maiden while winning the Maryland Juvenile Futurity Dec. 27, skipped Laurel Park's Private Terms S. due to missed training as a result of poor weather, and will likely run next on April 18 in the Federico Tesio Stakes at Pimlico or the Illinois Derby

• Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin scratched Imperia from the Spiral with a hind-end issue

• Lord Nelson was scratched from the G3 Sunland Park Derby on March 23 and will now be pointed to the G3 Bay Shore S. at Aqueduct on April 4.

March 16th

• A group of 15 3-year-olds were entered for the March 21 G3 Spiral S. Turfway Park, resulting in three exclusions due to the track's 12-horse starting-gate limit

• Spiral S. runners are Another Lemon Drop, Big Family, Conquest Typhoon, Dubai Sky, Firespike, Imperia, Magic Of Believing, Metaboss, Royal Son, Task Force Glory, Watchyourownbobber and Wireless Future

• Excluded from the Spiral S. were Pepper Roani, Saham and Milwaukee Mist

• Spiral S. post positions will be drawn on Wednesday, March 18

• G2 Rebel S. top two finishers American Pharoah and Madefromlucky are likely to return to Oaklawn Park for the G1 Arkansas Derby on April 11

• Dortmund, Prospect Park and Bolo - the first three finishers in the G2 San Felipe S. on March 7 at Santa Anita - all came out of the race well and are set for a rematch in four weeks in the G1 Santa Anita Derby

• Ocho Ocho Ocho, who emerged from his troubled eighth-place finish in the San Felipe with multiple cuts, is expected to return in the Santa Anita Derby

• G2 Tampa Bay Derby champ Carpe Diem will most likely be pointed to the G1 Blue Grass S. at Keeneland on April 4

• Tampa Bay Derby runner-up Ami's Flatter is also under consideration for the Blue Grass

• Divining Rod, third in the Tampa Bay Derby while racing with bar shoes on both front hooves, will be monitored closely for his quarter cracks to determine his next start

• Multiple graded stakes winner El Kabeir exited his G3 Gotham S. victory on March 7 in good order and will have his final Kentucky Derby prep in Aqueduct's G1 Wood Memorial S. on April 4

• Gotham show finisher Classy Class is also possible for the Wood Memorial

• Tiz Shea D, the Gotham runner-up, will be nominated to the Triple Crown series for a $6,000 fee by the March 23 deadline and race next in the Wood Memorial, Blue Grass, or G1 Arkansas Derby on April 11

• Upstart, who was disqualified from the top spot in the G2 Fountain of Youth S. last out, is on track for a start in the G1 Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park March 28, with the Wood Memorial remaining an option should he need an extra week of preparation

• Unrivaled, a runaway maiden winner when last seen at Parx in December, has been purchased by the Team Valor partnership and will make his seasonal debut in Laurel Park's Private Terms S. on March 14, with the hopes of moving on to the Blue Grass or Wood Memorial

• Materiality and Stanford, who crossed the wire one-two in Gulfstream Park's Islamorada H. on March 6, are stakes-bound, with specific races to be determined

• G2 Swale S. victor Ready for Rye will be kept sprinting for the immediate future, with Aqueduct's G3 Bay Shore S. on April 4 as a possible target

• Souper Colossal, who was cross-entered in the Tampa Bay Derby and Swale, spiked a temperature and was scratched from both races

March 3rd

•G3 Sam F. Davis S. champ Ocean Knight will return to Tampa Bay Downs to run in that track's G2 Tampa Bay Derby on March 7 rather than shipping to Aqueduct to race in the G3 Gotham on the same day as had been previously considered by owner Stonestreet Stable and conditioner Kiaran McLaughlin

•Owner Stonestreet Stable still plans to run G1 Claiborne Breeders' Futurity victor Carpe Diem, trained by Todd Pletcher, in the Tampa Bay Derby as expected

•Others pointing to the Tampa Bay Derby include Danzig Moon, Divining Rod, My Johnny Be Good, Ami's Flatter, Toasting Master and Great Stuff

•Black Rock Thoroughbreds, which campaigns G3 Withers S. winner Far From Over, has sold a 25 percent interest in the colt to James Covello and Madaket Stable

•Far From Over will now skip the Gotham and be trained up to a start in the G1 Wood Memorial on April 4 at Aqueduct

•The defections of Far From Over and Ocean Knight figure to leave El Kabeir a heavy favorite for the Gotham

•Junior Alvarado has picked up the mount on Classy Class for the Gotham

•Combat Diver, who is possible for the Gotham, is also under consideration for Laurel Park's Private Terms S. one week later

•Juvenile Filly Champion Take Charge Brandi has been confirmed to take on the boys in Oaklawn Park's G2 Rebel S. on March 14, with a jockey to be named

•Keen Ice, a closing third last out in the G2 Risen Star S. at Fair Grounds, is targeting a return to New Orleans for the G2 Louisiana Derby on March 28

•Verraco emerged from his victory in a Santa Anita optional claimer on Feb. 27 in good order and may make his stakes debut in the G3 Sunland Derby in New Mexico on March 22 or the Spiral at Turfway

•Danny Boy, who showed nothing when last in the G2 Fountain of Youth S. on Feb. 21, is under consideration for the Spiral

•Rock Shandy, third when last seen in the G3 Robert Lewis S. at Santa Anita on Feb. 7, is likely to ship from Southern California for the Sunland Derby in pursuit of more qualifying points to run for the roses

•Private Prospect, a multiple stakes winner who finished a dull seventh in Oaklawn's G3 Southwest, will skip the Rebel and may make his next start in the Gazebo S. there on March 21

•The Gulfstream Park stewards have suspended jockey Jose Ortiz for three days, beginning March 4, for his ride aboard Upstart in the Feb. 21 G2 Fountain of Youth

• Two-time graded stakes hero Dortmund is now possible for Santa Anita's G2 San Felipe S. on March 7 after impressing trainer Bob Baffert with his morning works

• G1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile champ Texas Red will remain at a Northern California farm until March 7 while recovering from a foot abscess

• Far Right, winner of the listed Smarty Jones S. and G3 Southwest S. at Oaklawn Park, will make his next start in the G1 Arkansas Derby there on April 11 and retain the services of jockey Mike Smith

• Southwest runner-up Truth Or Else will return in Oaklawn's G2 Rebel S. on March 14

• Mr. Z, beaten a nose for second in the Southwest, will make his next start without blinkers in the G2 Louisiana Derby on March 28 at Fair Grounds

• Bold Conquest, who was fourth in the Southwest, will be pointed to the Rebel

• Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners has acquired Fair Grounds maiden winner Comfort and transferred him to trainer Todd Pletcher

• Aqueduct's 6F Jimmy Winkfield S. failed to fill for the originally scheduled Feb. 28 date or for March 1 and could be brought back on March 6 or March 8

February 18th

• Oaklawn Park's G3 Southwest S., originally slated for Feb. 16, was rescheduled for Feb. 22 as a result of inclement weather that caused the track to freeze and two days of training to be lost

• Entries for the Southwest will be taken on Feb. 19 and the race is open to all original nominees

• Conditioner Donnie Von Hemel said original entrant Phenomenal Phoenix remains a go for the rescheduled Southwest and the undefeated Hillbilly Royalty may now be entered

• Hillbilly Royalty is under consideration for Oaklawn's G2 Rebel S. on March 14 and the G3 Sunland Derby on March 22 at Sunland Park should his connections opt to wait for another spot

• Original Southwest entrants Far Right, Bayerd and Bold Conquest are expected to remain in the stakes
