Notes:
Dual G2 stakes winner Overanalyze is the 5/2 morning line favorite for the 61 st running of the 400,000 G3 Gotham Stakes over Aqueduct s inner track. The 1 1/16m contest awards 50-20-10-5 Kentucky Derby qualifying points to the top four finishers and 11 were entered to challenge the Todd Pletcher trainee. Overanalyze, who has raced exclusively in graded stakes since breaking his maiden at first asking last August, has only been off-the-board once. The son of Dixie Union will reunite with jockey John Valazquez, who was aboard for his debut and also when the colt won the G2 Futurity S. at Belmont Park at the end of September. Unbeaten Vyjack also has two stakes victories on his resume, having taken the non-graded Traskwood in his 2 nd start and then the G2 Jerome S. to launch his sophomore season. Joel Rosario travels from Florida to replace Cornelio Velasquez in the irons. Siete de Oros was a narrow loser to Vyjack in the Jerome before relinquishing the lead late and finishing 3 rd in the G3 Withers S. over this course. Withers runner up Escapefromreality only missed by a neck to Revolutionary in that one and was 1 3/4 lengths in front of Siete de Oros. Amerigo Vespucci is another Withers alum in this bunch, having finished 4 th in that contest. Prior to that, he was 3 rd behind Vyjack and Siete de Oros in the Jerome and earned place honors in two 100k Laurel stakes as a juvenile. Frank Whitely S. champ Ore Pass was absolutely stellar in his debut then disappointed as the heavy favorite in a Parx allowance before taking his stakes debut. Sky Captain invades from South Florida after scratching when he drew an unfavorable outside post in Gulfstream Park s Fountain of Youth S. He wasn t flatted when his 1/26 conqueror, Cerro, flopped in that Gulfstream stakes. West Hills Giant, winner of the New York Breeders Futurity last September, should improve off of his good 3 rd in the Java Gold S. to start his sophomore season. Trainer Kiaran McLaughlin enters a trio of maiden winners, Elnaawi and the coupled pair of Transparent and Now and Then. The former will race on Lasix for the 1 st time and is a half brother to To Honor and Serve. Maiden Champion Boy was thrown to the wolves in the Withers off a 3 rd -place run in his career debut and will likely be every bit of his 30/1 morning line odds.
Gotham Stakes is a Grade3 horse racing event that is organized at Aqueduct. It has a purse value of 400,000. Horses that can cover a distance of 8.5 furlongs may participate in the race.
